Step 1: Clean your iPhone memory; keep at least 500MB-1GB of free space. This cleanup will give enough space to the installed app to store their data.  See which app is taking more space and to check it, move and click on Settings > General > Usage, it will show you list of apps installed on your iPhone and space occupied by them. The app which is taking more space, delete the useless data and document stored by that app.

Step 2: To increase the battery backup of your phone, disable some of the following settings and you will see that your battery backup has been improved.  These settings can be enabled or disabled to your needs.

  • Push notifications for apps (Settings > Notifications).
  • Disable Ping (Settings > General >Restrictions > Ping).
  • Push notifications for email (Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars).
  • Location Services (Settings > Location Services).

Step 3: Delete all old and unnecessary Call History and Voice Mails.

Step 4:  Check your iTunes syncing settings: calendars, email, contacts and all the default apps. Undo all the things which will not help you to speed up the syncing process.

Step 5: Change Automatic sync to manual sync in Photos: turn Photo library off, then set it to manual.

Step 6: Turn off the GPS on your iPhone if you have no use of a GPS,  To do it move to Settings\Location Services, there you can turn off Location Services completely or else disable apps that don’t need to access your GPS information.

Step 7: Turn off growing index of your files such as contacts, apps, music, and mail. This all things put lots of pressure on RAM which in result slows up your handset.   To turn off indexing in your Smartphone go to Settings\General\Spotlight & Search.

Step 8: If you do not use iCloud, disable iCloud as it puts a lot of pressure on your Smartphone which ultimate result in slowing down. If you don’t want to permanently disable it then you can temporarily disable it, go to  Settings\iCloud page and click Delete Account.

Step 9: Delete old messages: Messages\Edit\Delete

Step 10: At the same time iMessage puts a lot of pressure on your RAM and makes your iPhone run slower.  It is better to turn it off as it is one of the services that exerts a lot of pressure on the device and if you don’t use it then it’s better to switch it off.   To do so, you have to go to Settings\Messages.

Step 11: Uninstall all the unnecessary apps that have no use; they occupy valuable space in your iPhone. Delete all that are not used.

Step 12: When using the phone, close down any open apps by Double-Click main button and Swipe Up on any each open app and that will close that app from running in background.

Step 13: Close all background apps that may be running: Settings\General\Background App Refresh\ [Turn off].

Step 14: To further reduce phone power usage go to: General\Usage\Accessibility\Reduce Motion [Turn on].

Step 15: Lastly, shut-down iPhone, as well as iPad and Computer at least every other week.

These steps will improve the performance of your iPhone.
